Giulia Contaldo @ the Bridgewater Hall
A fairytale came true on Saturday night at the Bridgewater Hall. At only 3 days’ notice a young student from the RNCM – Royal Northern College of Music gets a call to step in to play Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A Minor with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, broadcast LIVE on Radio 3!
Members of Clonter, who attended this event, could not have felt more privileged to have witnessed this historic moment in the life of this remarkable young lady, having had the enormous pleasure of recording her at Clonter twice – In 2020 and 2021. An introduction made only to Clonter – as this is not its usual musical diet – due to wishing to promote its recording facilities, and having made an enquiry to the RNCM for any students that might like to take up an opportunity of a free recording session, as part of this pilot. Giulia Contaldo’s name was suggested.
What an enormous honour to have witnessed this astonishing performance.
