Next year will mark Clonter’s 50th Anniversary, and we want to make sure it is the best year yet, but in order to make it to 50 we need your help. Any funding raised will help us be able to celebrate Clonter’s 50th Anniversary and continue to provide a nurturing and supportive place for emerging talent to flourish and entertain our audiences for generations to come.

Jazz in June – James Pearson & Friends

.
“Excellent performance and great to have such quality musicians appear locally. Whole evening was fabulous.”
.

“A terrific concert. James Pearson is the best jazz pianist I have heard in over 30 years.”
.

“Excellent performance from all the artists. A wonderful atmosphere throughout the whole venue. All the staff were most welcoming and enthusiastic.”
.

“What a very special, hugely enjoyable, evening we had. The jazz was excellent and the performers outstanding. It was so good also to have someone from the local area. I am always amazed at how Clonter has developed since first coming 30 years ago. It looked like Glyndebourne of the North as we arrived with people picnicking outside.”

Audience Feedback 2023
.
.

We could not have been more overjoyed by the turn out last Saturday. It was as good as SOLD OUT, with only spits and spots left. And as with any live entertainment, the chemistry between the audience and musicians on stage was vital, and palpable, culminating in a standing ovation! The whole evening built slowly with James Pearson starting with just his trio, and then gradually introducing the other ingredients – Quentin Collins on Trumpet, and then vocalist Polly Gibbons, who delighted the assembled crowd with both jazz standards from the Great American Songbook, but also with two of her own numbers, from her new album, which were equally well received. But making this evening even more special and spoiling was the introduction of local saxophonist Alex Clarke in the second half – due to the need to be at another gig earlier in the day.

Just so you can get a taste of what you missed, here are a few shots from the wings.
