The 2020 Clonter Fair will now be going ahead, albeit in a slightly different form to normal. Who knows, it might be event better! We are cautiously optimistic that there will be more dogs than usual, more children than usual, but above all, it will be a family day out, giving Clonter the opportunity to share its ground with you.

Our aim is to have as many activities for children as possible, so the usual Splat the Rat, and now the well established Dog Show, but we are also introducing a quasi Sports Day, including socially distanced sack, egg and spoon, wheel barrow and 3 legged races, to make up for the loss of this annual school tradition, this year. The adults can also join in. No reason why the children should have all the fun.

All Government Guidelines will be followed to the letter. Precautions include:

• Contact details to be taken at the entrance gate, incase of local outbreak
• Visitors will be asked to sanitise their hands on arrival
• Number of visitors closely monitored for density, and thereby access may be staggered
• All volunteers will be asked to wear a protective visor, whilst on duty
• All activity equipment will be sanitised in between users
• Stewards will (gently) ensure that 2 metre social distancing is maintained

Papageno’s Quest
New to the fair this year is a bespoke show – Papageno’s Quest, which will be performed 3 times during the day – 11am, 1pm & 3pm

We are also delighted to welcome Dane Sound Radio to help keep you informed on what is going on, and musically entertained throughout the day, alongside Busker Newton, and the cast of the children’s musical show.

The Congleton Bear Town Classic Car Club are also all poised with their turtle wax to proudly present and share their treasured automobiles with you.

If you would like to have a stall, a car boot, or to volunteer, please contact events@clonter.org.

Here’s to having the best day out possible, during COVID-19.
