Shawshank Redemption

Did you see Shawshank Redemption over Christmas? And did you know that it featured the duet from The Marriage of Figaro? Click here to listen. Red says he doesn’t want to know what they are singing about, as it is just so beautiful, or some such sentiment.

If you know any 26-year-olds or under, and have tried to get them to the opera, but have failed, might this just be the hook needed?

In fact opera features in all of the following films as well – Apocalypse Now, Sex and the City, The King’s Speech, A Night at the Opera, A Room with a View, The Fifth Element, The Witches of Eastwick, Driving Miss Daisy, Pretty Woman as well as of course the World Cup in 1990!
