There are just two weeks to go until we are finally able to fling open our doors once more, and we couldn’t be more delighted that we shall be doing it with the James Pearson Trio, but also with whom he has managed to get to come with him this year.
Emma Smith was one of the winners of the Jazz award that Jeffery Lockett initiated whilst Master of the Musicians’ Company, enthralling an audience at Clonter in 2018.
Mr Pearson’s other guest, Alex Garnett is a huge favourite of Clonter’s, having been to Clonter countless times. On his last visit he delighted both the audience AND above all Jeffery Lockett, with not only his legendary racontouring, but also with his climactic story – that he had come into possession of a very neglected saxophone a few years ago, that had needed much love and attention, to restore back to health. He told the audience that he was now delighted to be playing it that night, but above all (spotlight on Jeffery Locket) ‘Jeffery, this used to belong to you’. It was quite the goose bumpy moment.
No doubt more stories will be told, on this most momentous of evenings – Our very first since we got the letter from Boris last March.
We do so hope you can join us.
Here is a sample of what Emma has been doing during Lockdown.
