Clonter is keen to open up the magic of musical performance to all ages and children are welcome to any of the performances.

If you’ve never tried opera before come to our Opera Novice Night.

Our Public Dress Rehearsal offers Clonter an opportunity to  present its latest opera production in an informal and informative way to newcomers.

Including a pre-performance talk for the whole audience in the auditorium by the director who explains the concept for the production and the influences behind it.

There is a free costume design workshop for young people to learn about the characters in the opera before the pre-performance talk.

Due to the success of last year’s fair, Clonter is keen to make this even an annual mini festival. Joining forces with the Bongleton Bear Town Classic Car Club, with more live acts though the day, accompanied by a ‘Country House’ Car Boot, and food and craft stalls.

Shake off the end of summer blues the Clonter Fair and Car Boot Sale, which will take place on Sunday 6th September from 10 am – 4pm.

Tons of attractions for the whole family – from lucky finds amongst the car boots, to hand made craft stalls, and a host of entertainment from fortune telling and face painting, to the Congleton Beartown Classic Car Club and Birds of Prey from Stockley Farm (3pm), alongside good old fashioned fair games, such as Splat the Rat, and a Coconut Shy.

5 singers and a pianist will perform arias, duets and ensembles from some of the world’s favourite musicals, operas and operettas

Every song and scene will be fully explained and audience participation is encouraged in one of the musical theatre numbers.
You will have an opportunity to meet and talk to the cast after the show.

A DELICIOUSLY WICKED POST PERFORMANCE CREAM TEA can be pre-ordered or you can bring a picnic.

Suitable for all ages.

There will be a new Set and Costume Design Exhibition at the Clonterbrook Gallery to display costume designs, model boxes and costumes on mannequins from the productions of La Traviata, Hansel and Greteland Cosi Fan Tutte designed by Eleanor Wdowski.

A virtual tour of the exhibition and a photo diary of the design process from sketch to fully staged performance will be hosted on our website along-side excerpts from the Operas.

The exhibition will be open to schools and special interest groups by appointment and on specific dates still to be announced.
