Clonter’s unique dining facilities enable audiences to extend the enjoyment of the performance.
Audience members have the option of pre-booking a formal supper, canapé baskets or a picnic hamper, provided by local high quality caterers. Please see our menus.
Performances are either combined with a 30 minute interval with a pre-performance supper/picnic or a 70 minute supper/picnic interval – See Event specific details.
This takes place in the Carmen Restaurant. Suppers are available to pre-book up to a week before a performance. The menus are designed to be event and cost appropriate.
Canapé Baskets & Picnic Hampers
To bridge the gap between people who would prefer the informality of a picnic, but do not have the time to put together a picnic, these initiatives have been introduced.
Picnic Tables (Indoor)
A popular option is to book an indoor picnic table and bring your own food. All we ask is that you take your rubbish home with you at the end of the evening and recycle as appropriate.
Table to Share – For a number of years an exclusive benefit of the Friends Membership has been that they are able to join a Friends table, when they come to an event. We have however decided this year to extend this provision to non Friends of Clonter, at a cost of £3.50 per head. If you only wanted a table for 2, it would now be £5 per head. This initiative therefore means that you would pay less, with the added bonus that you may possibly make some new friends in the process!
This also means that should you wish to come to an event, and you are on your own, that you would not be alone. This provision we identify is of particular significance with regards to evenings with long supper intervals, such as the Opera Prize, Jazz in June, The two Saturdays and Thursday performances of the Summer Opera Production, the Opera Gala and the Gospel. We very much hope that this will mean that we open further access to these events, in addition to the afternoon teas, which already offer this table to share opportunity.
